To close the file comparison, click the Accessoriesmenu again, choose the Compareand then click the Clear Active Comparisoneither Clear all comparisonsoption.The colors for the differences can also be changed for the Compare plugin. You can also click the Accessorieslater Compareand choose the Settingsoption to further configure the Compare plugin options.It will compare the two files and show the differences between them.After that, click on the Accessoriesmenu, choose the Compareoption, and then click the Comparein the submenu.Note: You can also just dragY releasefiles to Notepad++ to open them. You can do it by clicking the Proceedingsmenu and selecting the Openand then select the files you want to open. You can use the nd down arrow to check the difference. The difference is clearly highlighted with a marker and different colors. Within seconds, it shows difference/comparison side by side as shown below. Navigate to Plugins->Compare menu and click Compare to compare the files. Now open two files that you want to compare. Open the files in notepad++ which you want to compare. Once Notepad++ restarts, the Compare plugin will be installed.Click on the Yesbutton to approve the action. will ask you to restartNotepad++ to install the Compare plugin.Go to the Plugins menu > Plugin Manager, check the Compare checkbox and press install. Just use the new Notepad++ Plugin Manager introduced since Notepad v5.6. Select the plugin and click the install on pcbutton. Update 2: There’s now an even easier way to get new plugins such as the compare plugin installed into Notepad++. Look for the Compareplugin in the plugin list.Click on the Accessoriesmenu in the menu bar and choose the Add-on manageroption. You can also search Notepad++through the Windows search function and open it.
